Motorists should avoid the area of Dix-Toledo and Cicotte in Lincoln Park as crews work to repair a smashed stop light.
The light was struck by the top of an oversized load that was being hauled on a flatbed trailer through the intersection at about 1:15 p.m. Thursday.
Local resident Al Poe, who saw the light as it was “taken out” by the load on the trailer said repair crews were on site within minutes.
As of 2:30 p.m. repair crews were still installing a replacement light at the intersection.
